Job Description

As an Accounting Specialist at Luggage Forward you’ll be a core member of our Finance Team, supporting a wide variety of bookkeeping and finance related responsibilities. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to learn the business inside and out and contribute to our culture of service and innovation. We are looking for a team-player with finance, billing or accounting experience, who enjoys task-oriented responsibilities, works well independently, and has a positive, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting vendor accounts payable and client billing, including:

• Researching, verifying, paying, and disputing invoices
• Providing supporting documentation for incorrect billing
• Managing shipper payables
• Resolving issues from payment processors about rejections

Analyzing financial data and KPIs to drive efficiency and profitability, including:

• Supporting cross-functional finance, operations, and growth projects
• Reviewing shipper cost trends and making recommendations for billing improvements
• Evaluating new business opportunities

Supporting controller on month and year-end processes and procedures:

• Maintaining schedules and reconciliations of various accounts and preparation of journal entries
• Researching and resolving accounting issues

• Strong at working independently and taking ownership of results
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks, and Google Sheets
• Familiar with the accounting principals and financial statements
• Able to manipulate and gather insights from data

This is a fully remote part-time position for 25-30 hours per week. We offer paid holidays and PTO benefits annually.
