Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s AirFlite Aircraft Maintenance Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Aircraft Maintenance Technician.

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that aircraft are maintained in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures, maintain communication with the McKinney Office to ensure all department operational requirements are met, and hold and keep current a non-violation Airmen certificate with Airframe and Power plant ratings.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the person in this role will support the Aircraft Maintenance department's objective to conduct high-quality maintenance and inspection services for company aircraft to ensure their airworthiness under the provisions of the Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturer’s recommendations. The principal objective of the Maintenance Department is to provide the maximum availability of safe, air-worthy aircraft.

What you’ll be doing

  • Work with the Chief Inspector to maintain proper record entries and Lead Technician for task guidance.
  • Interface with vendors and contractors involved, directly or indirectly, with the maintenance of the Company aircraft to solicit bids for services, collect technical data for support and troubleshooting, and provide support to off-site personnel.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable regarding, but not limited to, the Manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, Corporate Maintenance/Flight Operations Manual, AirFlite’s Repair Station manual, and all Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Maintain company aircraft to the highest state of mechanical condition possible in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and/or approved methods and techniques.
  • Debrief flight crews, perform pre- and post-flight inspections, schedule and unschedule maintenance, and troubleshoot, repair, and service all aircraft systems including but not limited to fuel, oil, oxygen, lavatory chemicals, and water.
  • Perform cross-inspections for other company technicians.
  • When appropriately rated and qualified, will act as a Flight Engineer on Company aircraft. Will normally occupy cockpit jump seat during takeoffs and landings and act as an in-flight observer for traffic conflicts. Will perform en-route navigation and trend monitoring tasks. Will assist the Flight Attendant during cabin emergency procedures. Will perform/supervise all aircraft servicing and discrepancy correction during the trip.
  • Work in cooperation with the Parts Coordinator to Order, Receive, Pack, Ship, and Track parts and components sent out for repair, replacement, or core return.
  • May be assigned additional duties regarding GSE, inventory, and hanger issues.

What you bring

  • High school diploma/GED or higher.
  • An Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
  • Experience working on Gulfstream large-cabin aircraft.
  • Ability to read and understand the purposes of troubleshooting, repairing, and performing modifications to mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Possess a valid passport and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, word processing, spreadsheets, and computer-based maintenance tracking programs.
  • An understanding of the use of Minimum Equipment Lists and Configurations Deviation Lists.
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting cabin management systems, i.e., entertainment systems, lighting, and cabin communications systems.
  • An understanding and ability to service aircraft systems – water, toilet, fuel, oxygen, hydraulic, tires, and struts.
  • This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

  • Technicians qualified to perform Engine Run, and Taxi procedures must have completed an Engine Run and Taxi Initial course in aircraft type.
