Overview:

Works under the supervision of the Director/ Manager of Pharmacy. May be designated by the Director/ Manager of Pharmacy or designee as being in charge. Supervises and performs compounding (both sterile and non-sterile) packaging and dispensing of pharmaceuticals according to prescription physician order or floor stock request in compliance with state and federal law and regulation. Review validation and patient specific assessment of medication orders. Monitors patient profiles to assure appropriate dosage and therapy. Provides current drug information. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age group of the patients served including participation in pharmacy clinical programs. Possesses the skills and ability to assess data reflective of patient status and to interpret this information and identify the patients needs in relation to age specific requirements and to provide care as described in accordance with state and federal law and regulation and facility policy and procedures. Supervises the work of pharmacy technicians interns and students. Performs other duties as assigned.
