POSITION SUMMARY:

The Haynes University Administrator collaborates with the Dean of Haynes University and craft instructors to drive career growth for students of Haynes University. The Administrator will perform various tasks such as administrative duties for students and staff, NCCER reporting and compliance, and proctoring testing of students. The position requires a team player and effective leader who can influence staff and students to achieve success. The Administrator reports directly to the Dean and works closely with the craft instructors, staff, students, alumni, and the business community to further Haynes University’s mission and strategic goals.

  • Demonstrated administrative skills in a similar role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office products and ability to quickly learn new computer software
  • Interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills as well as the ability to work flexibly with other team members


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other job duties may be assigned that are not included in the job description.

  • Maintain and upkeep of the university facilities; including clean, safe, well-supplied, and functional labs, classrooms, and common areas
  • Manage effective utilization of university spaces by ensuring they are appropriately reserved by HU and HMS groups
  • Manage the HU calendar for each academic year; including appropriate calendar invites and updates for students and staff
  • Create and distribute classroom materials and resources to craft instructors in advance of each class
  • Prepare and schedule Craft Trainer certification training as needed in conjunction with the Dean
  • Monitor instructors who are not Craft Certified
  • Complete and submit all required NCCER forms in order to maintain compliance
  • Anticipate NCCER textbook needs and ensure the correct versions are on-hand for each student as necessary
  • Proctor NCCER student tests and re-tests
  • Maintain NCCER records, engage with the NCCER area rep, and participate in NCCER audits as necessary
  • Become NCCER proctor and Craft Instructor certified, and maintain certifications
  • Track and maintain OJL logs for Haynes Mechanical Systems’ apprentices
  • Track and maintain accurate reporting of student grades
  • Proctor placement tests/Journeyman evaluations for Associates and new hire candidates
  • Assist the Dean with planning and executing the annual HU graduation ceremony and celebration
  • Order office supplies, lab supplies, and other necessary materials
  • Order food for each night of HU instruction
  • Facilitate outside instructors/vendors for group Journeyman-level training as requested by the Dean; including classroom set up, food, etc.
  • Assist the Dean with long-range planning and budgeting for Haynes University


Salary Range: $54,000 - $68,000
