We seek a highly talented Senior Data Governance Analyst to join our growing analytics team. Throughout the institution, across the clinical, research, administrative, and operational domains, many analytics customers need access to accurate data and insightful analytics.

You are detail-oriented and passionate about working with analytics customers and project teams to develop data management solutions and ensure a secure, reliable, and high-performing foundational data environment. The Senior Data Governance Analyst is critical to enabling stakeholders across the institution to produce reporting solutions with consistent, clearly defined metrics and promote a data-centric approach to managing data as an asset. You will excel at this job by collaborating with customers to focus on data quality improvement, credibility, and accessibility and adopting data assets by modifying institutional behavior, policies, standards, and processes. You will also help mature the comprehensive data and analytics technology platform and service delivery strategy that aligns with St. Jude’s priorities and promote an institution-wide data-driven culture.

Responsibilities

Some regular responsibilities might look like, but are not limited to,

  • Learn about and understand metadata from data owners and data stewards, and
capture and document knowledge into a shared repository.
  • Build partnerships with stakeholders across the institution.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, end users, leadership, and subject matter experts to align data governance processes and policies with business needs.
  • Design and facilitate collaborative meetings to reconcile differences and build consensus on data governance issues.
  • Review data documentation with team members to ensure the institutional data management framework is understood, followed, and matured.
  • Map data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics to ensure data quality.
  • Track data quality, completeness, redundancy, compliance, and improvement.
  • Work closely with Solutions Architects, Data Architects, Business SMEs, and other stakeholders throughout the analytics development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of robust and reusable data models.
  • Communicate with customer and the project team promptly and escalates issues & risks appropriately.


Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information science, business, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.


Minimum Experience

  • Minimum requirement: 4+ years of experience working in enterprise data management, data governance & stewardship, or data quality.
  • Experience in enterprise data management, data governance & stewardship, or data quality. Knowledge of:
  • data quality principles and methodologies, data profiling, data lineage, and metric tractability;
  • data governance concepts, processes, policies & framework;
  • data security and access policies and practices.
  • Strong analytical skills, process, problem-solving, and detail-oriented. Experience utilizing Lean concepts, including visibility walls, problem-solving A3s, and Gemba rounding principles.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role (internal or external), with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and collaboration through solid facilitation and customer service skills.
  • Ability to successfully influence and motivate cross-functional teams without direct control.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates excellent follow-up skills, the ability to take the initiative, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Willingness and ability to learn, adapt and apply new technologies.
  • Project management skills and experience with Agile Project Management methodology.
  • Analytics experience working with healthcare quality metrics is preferred.
  • Experience with Service Now, SQL, MS Azure, Power BI, Epic EHR, and/or Workday ERP is preferred.
