Electrical Components International (ECI) is looking for a US Operations Controller to join our team in Southfield, MI. This is an on-site position.

Qualified candidates must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/Accounting; CPA a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in broad based financial experience including supervision with heavy emphasis on manufacturing, operational background
  • Prior plant controller experience highly preferred
  • Microsoft Excel knowledge, analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills required

About the Position:

ECI is seeking a US Operations Controller to oversee multiple manufacturing facilities. This critical position will report to the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for the plant accounting and providing financial support to the plant and managers as needed. The US Operations Controller will manage the public audit, analyze, and report financial results, complete the month end close, and review account reconciliations. review and approve all products pricing by analyzing potential business for profit impact, capital, and inventory requirements and ROI. The Controller will manage receivable and payable functions and provide gross margin analysis by product line and customer.

Duties Include:

  • Manage plant accounting departments (Fargo, ND; Reading, PA; Ellijay, GA; Atlanta, TX), plan and direct the work of subordinates to ensure accurate and timely reporting of required financial data.
  • Maintain general ledger reporting of plant assets, liability and operating accounts, including the maintenance of fixed assets and capital spend.
  • Manage the inventory activity and maintain the accuracy of the perpetual listing.
  • Reconciliation of intercompany activity and account balances.
  • Manage month-end close, including journal entries from all areas are submitted, approved, and entered.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements including cash flow in accordance to GAAP requirements and company policies
  • Review reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with monitoring internal controls and implementing process improvements.
  • Review of all plant related accounting reporting and information systems and identification of projects, which would improve support of the plants.
  • Facilitate audit requests as needed
  • Document procedures relevant to the senior account roles and responsibilities
  • Work with cross function leaders and provide applicable support when requested
  • Maintain records in accordance with company policy
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/Accounting; CPA a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in broad based financial experience including supervision with heavy emphasis on manufacturing, operational background
  • Prior plant controller experience highly preferred
  • Microsoft Excel knowledge, analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills required
  • Willingness to travel 25% in the US
