Vice President for Construction and Facilities/Plant Operations

The CommuniCare Family of Companies currently owns/operates more than 100 World-Class Healthcare facilities in 7 states. A family-owned company, we have grown to become one of the nation’s largest providers of post-acute care, which includes skilled nursing rehabilitation centers, long-term care centers, assisted living communities, independent rehabilitation centers and specialty hospitals. Since 1984, CommuniCare Health Services has provided superior, comprehensive management services for the development and management of adult living communities.

We are currently looking to fill a key position, Vice President for Construction and Facilities/Plant Operations.

PURPOSE/BELIEF STATEMENT

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President for Construction and Facilities/Plant Operations will provide strategic/master planning, general management and professional direction for all of CommuniCare's buildings and properties. The Vice President will be charged with managing the departments within Real Estate and Facilities, Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Management, Planning, Design & Construction, and Real Estate Management.

The selected candidate must have excellent interpersonal, communications and relationship-building skills and be able to lead a staff of Project Managers.

The position is based at our Blue Ash, Ohio office (suburb of Cincinnati) and will require travel.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Business Administration, Architecture, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
  • 15 years of real estate and/or facilities related experience in a health care or related corporate facilities environment, with at least five of those years serving as a director.
  • Extensive experience managing a complex facilities operation. Knowledge of facility construction, applicable building codes, mechanical and electrical systems and their maintenance and operation and their related renewal costs. Proven mechanical and engineering expertise a plus.
  • High level of knowledge of the regulatory environment, including construction permitting requirements, workplace safety requirements and environmental regulations as needed.
  • Experience in budget preparation and fiscal management.
